This book has words, useful words! Not only are all the regular Aircraft are covered but a lot of minor aircraft types as well as those developed that did not see production runs. I was surprised at the number of what I thought were "between wars" types that entered the early days of the conflict. Useful production and operational histories are provided along with specifications. Three view drawings are supplemented by Profiles and colour photos. My only lament, and it is a small one, is that even though types like the Biistol Bollingbroke and DAP Beaufort/Beaufighter are mentioned British Commonwealth designs such as the CAC Boomerang, Wacket, CA15 and Woomera are not.

I also recommend "The Hamlyn Concise Guide to American Aircraft of World War II" but have not yet seen the Axis volume.
Best since William Green's 10 volume effort.

A great addition to my Air Wars Library.

If I had to have only one book to cover all of British WW2 aviation, this would be it. Although small in size (10x6")it manages to cover over 100 aircraft built by the British in WW2. Planes from trainers to massive bombers, prototypes that never flew to famous aircraft such as the Hurricane, Spitfire, Lancaster, Mosquito are all captured here.

Short historys of the planes, data and statistics for each, color illustrations for the majority of them, this book is a great reference. When in print, it was a bargin at $13.00.

A very handy reference tool, I have used this book many times when in search of a quick fact without delving into a more comprehensive study. It can be used by modelers, although the color illustrations are small and can be limited. I definately recommend this book to all aviation fans.

I am a big fan of airplane especially this one. British aircraft of world war II is the most favourite in design but that also the same with American and Axis.

Good references for my cartoon comic art and yet it's affordable.
